Western United FC has been given a deadline to appeal the First Instance Body's decision on club licensing. The club must meet the mandatory criteria set out in Football Australia's National Club Licensing Regulations. The First Instance Body convened on Thursday, 14 May 2026 to determine all Club Licensing outcomes for the 2026-27 A-Leagues season. Western United FC is the only club that has not satisfied the mandatory criteria. The club has until 5.00pm on Friday, 22 May 2026 to appeal the decision. If the club chooses to appeal, they will be heard by the Appeals & Entry Control Body. Football Australia will not be making any further comment until the process has been completed.
